Helpful tips for buying a boat, including of course a ‘pre purchase survey’

Here’s a good reason to have a survey done on a boat you are thinking of buying:-
The photos shows a split right through the propeller lock nut. Though the prop would not have completely come off, if this nut had totally failed due to the second nut and split pin, though it could badly damage the key way and/or the propeller.
The staff at Herbert Woods quickly replaced the nut which also saved the purchaser from having to pay for another lift later on in the season.
